har ek raat ko mahtāb dekhne ke liye
maiñ jāgtā huuñ tirā ḳhvāb dekhne ke liye
har ek raat ko mahtab dekhne ke liye
main jagta hun tera KHwab dekhne ke liye
apnī tasvīr banāoge to hogā ehsās
kitnā dushvār hai ḳhud ko koī chehrā denā
apni taswir banaoge to hoga ehsas
kitna dushwar hai KHud ko koi chehra dena
ġhazal kā sher to hotā hai bas kisī ke liye
magar sitam hai ki sab ko sunānā paḌtā hai
ghazal ka sher to hota hai bas kisi ke liye
magar sitam hai ki sab ko sunana paDta hai
shikastagī meñ bhī kyā shaan hai imārat kī
ki dekhne ko ise sar uThānā paḌtā hai
shikastagi mein bhi kya shan hai imarat ki
ki dekhne ko ise sar uThana paDta hai
