साक़िया एक नज़र जाम से पहले पहले
हम को जाना है कहीं शाम से पहले पहले
नौ-गिरफ़्तार-ए-वफ़ा सई-ए-रिहाई है अबस
हम भी उलझे थे बहुत दाम से पहले पहले
ख़ुश हो ऐ दिल कि मोहब्बत तो निभा दी तू ने
लोग उजड़ जाते हैं अंजाम से पहले पहले
अब तिरे ज़िक्र पे हम बात बदल देते हैं
कितनी रग़बत थी तिरे नाम से पहले पहले
सामने उम्र पड़ी है शब-ए-तन्हाई की
वो मुझे छोड़ गया शाम से पहले पहले
कितना अच्छा था कि हम भी जिया करते थे 'फ़राज़'
ग़ैर-मारूफ़ से गुमनाम से पहले पहले
