ایک آواز مستقل آواز
لے گئی ہے سکون دل آواز
میری لکنت بیان کرتی ہے
ہے کسی سے بہت خجل آواز
روح کی خامشی پہ ہے اک بوجھ
یعنی انبار آب و گل آواز
آتی ہے حجرۂ شب غم سے
ہولناک اور جاں گسل آواز
کوئی تو ہے غیاب میں کوثرؔ
سنتا ہے اپنی مضمحل آواز
