نقش پانی پہ بنایا کیوں تھا
جب بنایا تو مٹایا کیوں تھا
گئے وقتوں کا ہے اب رونا کیوں
آئے وقتوں کو گنوایا کیوں تھا
بیٹھ جانا تھا اگر مثل غبار
سر پہ طوفان اٹھایا کیوں تھا
میری منزل نہ کہیں تھی تو مجھے
دشت در دشت پھرایا کیوں تھا
وہ نہ ہمدم تھا نہ دم ساز کوئی
حال دل اس کو سنایا کیوں تھا
دور رہنا تھا جب اس کو محسنؔ
میرے نزدیک وہ آیا کیوں تھا
