ashk Dhalte nahin dekhe jate

koi rishta na ho phir bhi rishte bahut

kabhi pyara koi manzar lagega

chandni ka raqs dariya par nahin dekha gaya

chamka jo chand raat ka chehra nikhar gaya

yaad yun hosh ganwa baiThi hai

jo guzarta hai guzar jae ji

chandni raat mein har dard sanwar jata hai

jaanib-e-dar dekhna achchha nahin

nange panw ki aahaT thi ya narm hawa ka jhonka tha

duniya ne jab Daraya to Darne mein lag gaya

phul ke laeq faza rakhni hi thi

samundar par aa baiThe magar kya

hum kya kahen ki aabla-pai se kya mila

har lamha marg-o-zist mein paikar dekhna

ek sail-e-be-panah ki surat rawan hai waqt

main teri hi aawaz hun aur gunj raha hun

ruh ko qalib ke andar jaanna mushkil hua
