bāñdh rahe haiñ dhāge phuul

chhat khiḌkī darvāze phuul
dil kā dard hai maddham maddham
gul-daste meñ sūkhe phuul
aañkh meñ kaise ḳhvāb haiñ utre
jhiil pe kis ne Daale phuul
pyaar kā rasta kankar patthar
lekin pair ke chhāle phuul
ik chehre ko dekh ke 'sāgar'
zehn galī meñ mahke phuul
