ham ko apnī ḳhabar nahīñ yaaro
tum zamāne kī baat karte ho
Friends when I have no clue about myself
you talk to me about the world in vain
zikr merā sunā to chaḌh ke kahā
kis divāne kī baat karte ho
my mention makes her churlishly complain
why do you talk of him? he is insane
hādsa thā guzar gayā hogā
kis ke jaane kī baat karte ho
it was an accident it would have passed
her love for me why do you now explain
