jada-e-mohabbat mein rah gae the hum tanha

daman lahu-lahu hai gareban lahu-lahu

tanz ke tir-o-nashtar is par komal aur rasile honT

patthar-dil ko mom banaya kafir but ko ram kiya

ab sochta hun umr-e-do-roza se kya mila

kya qayamat hai gham ki girai

is ahd mein suna hai majbur aadmi se

shikwa-e-gham ka asar yaad aaya

alam ki dhup mein ahbab kaam aaya nahin karte

ata kar mujhko nazare ki tab aahista-ahista

dil mein hasrat ka dagh jalta hai

ye le de ke jine ka hasil hai goya

ye be-hisi ki zara bhi wo pesh-o-pas mein na tha

shamim-e-gul ki tarah nikhat-e-hina ki tarah

ishq ki bargah tak pahuncha

KHizan chaman mein yun mastana-war guzri hai

iztirab-e-shauq mein ilham ka dhoka hua

ye zist ranj mein guzre ki shadman guzre

mahrumiyon ka dil par itna hai kuchh asar sa

fasurda lakh ho dil shoala-samani nahin jati
