aaj yaadon ne ajab rang bikhere dil mein

ba-qadr-e-did na the teri anjuman ke charagh

na jaane kya meri wahshat ne KHwab dekha hai

jada-e-mai pe guzar KHwabon ka

wahm ke jabr ke mare hue insanon par

nazar mein loch na haijaan manzaron mein hai

chand ka aks tah-e-ab chamakta dekho

jab kabhi rasm-o-rah-e-‘am sada deti hai

chand paband-e-salasil hue aazad ab ke

chand se pyar sitaron se shanasai bhi

KHun-e-dil hai nikhaar kanTon par

hum kahan aur kahan rasm-o-rah-e-am-e-ghazal

nahin malum raaton ka andhera kis ko takta hai
