jis taraf tū ne aañkh bhar dekhā
of life and spirit, bodies were devoid
a gaze intense, wherever you deployed
naala fariyād aah aur zaarī
aap se ho sakā so kar dekhā
wailing, pleading, lamenting and sighing
the things that I could do / I kept on trying
un laboñ ne na kī masīhā.ī
ham ne sau sau tarah se mar dekhā
the role of Jesus, those lips did not play
I tried, in hundred ways, myself to slay
zor āshiq-mizāj hai koī
'dard' ko qissa muḳhtasar dekhā
he's someone who's the deeply ardent sort
the tale of 'dard' is just this simple, short
