tū ne taḌpā hī diyā jallād ko
baad mere uTh ga.ī qadr-e-sitam
ab taraste haiñ hasīñ bedād ko
ik zarā jhūTī tasallī hī sahī
kuchh to samjhā do dil-e-nāshād ko
haa.e ye dard-e-jigar kis se kahūñ
kaun suntā hai mirī fariyād ko
jā.eñge duniyā se sab kuchh chhoḌ kar
haañ magar le kar kisī kī yaad ko
ab mujhe māneñ na māneñ ai 'hafīz'
mānte haiñ sab mire ustād ko

jaenge duniya se sab kuchh chhoD kar
han magar le kar kisi ki yaad ko
ab mujhe manen na manen ai 'hafiz'
mante hain sab mere ustad ko
